Why controls matter

The rise of POCT: convenience needs a reference point.

Point-of-care testing has grown quickly because it produces results at the patient's side. Clinicians can act immediately, and outcomes improve when a decision no longer waits on a central laboratory.

That advantage only holds if the result is right. A POCT device is only as trustworthy as the data it generates, which is why routine quality control belongs in every point-of-care workflow, and why control material has to behave like a real sample.

Verilox produces tailored bulk controls: a cost-effective, consistent supply for IVD manufacturers who ship devices and control material together.

Performance

Every claim is tied to a test we run on the lot.

Commutability, stability, homogeneity and lot-to-lot consistency are checked before release.

High commutability

Human serum and blood matrix, so the control behaves on the device the way a patient sample does.

Verified stability

Recommended shelf life of 12 weeks for blood-based POCT CRP and POCT glucose controls, with triplicate measurement at every time point.

Accelerated stability

Each production lot is incubated one week at 37 °C and compared with reference material stored at +2 to 8 °C; a change below 20% is expected.

Vial-to-vial homogeneity

Random vials from every lot are tested to ISO 13528 and released against the total allowable error limits for CRP and glucose defined in the Rilibäk guideline.

Minimal lot-to-lot variation

Consistent target values are maintained across production lots, so results stay familiar from one delivery to the next.

Clinically relevant levels

Levels are set across the assay range and around the values that matter for clinical decision making.

How we test and release each lot →
Tailor-made

Specified to your device, not to a catalogue.

We adjust the control to the assay it has to verify, and leave out what you do not need.

  • Different filling volumes
  • Adjustable target values and levels
  • Single or multi-analyte combinations
  • Consistent target values across repeat lots
